text

Influenced from both modernist abstraction and pop culture, A.T.Biltereyst’s
paintings are intimate seductions, slipping between hard-edged design and
emotive expression. His paintings on multiplex are based on omnipresent signs
and logos and can refer both to the design on a truck or the language of ads
in the street. He combines the geometric abstraction with a more open practice
that is undermining the binary, knowledgeable assumptions of the modern
pictorial realm. The glossy enamel contrasts with the delicate traces on the wood.
They are disturbed by inperfections that relate to the speed of work.
